    Ask in your own words

    Type what you need in English, Sinhala or Tamil — a budget, a family size, a fuel preference, a district. There is no form to fill in field by field.

    Every listing is scored the same way

    Each vehicle is checked against five factors — fit to your stated budget, fuel economy, comfort and space, reliability, and resale value — and combined into a single match score. The same five factors apply to every listing, so the ranking is consistent and can be checked, not a black box.

    You get a shortlist with the reasoning attached

    The results page shows the top matches with the specific reasons each one was picked — for example, its estimated monthly fuel cost or how its mileage compares for its age — and a link to the original listing.

Why does a listing sometimes say "unknown"?

Seller-entered data is sometimes wrong in ways that would break a ranking — a 1988 car listed at "4 km", or a price of Rs. 12,345 that is really a placeholder. When a price or mileage figure falls outside what is realistic, AutoMate.lk treats it as unknown rather than trusting it, while keeping the seller's original text visible.
